Were you ever expecting a 143 during the Valentine's day and received a 520 instead, leaving you completely confused? Worry not, it's not that your special someone doesn't love you, but they might just be in a very Chinese time of their life.
And so, on the special occasion of Valentines Day, 星星 (Xīngxīng, Chinese Exploratory Program) seized the opportunity to hold its second session named 好想你 (hǎo xiǎng nǐ, I miss you a lot) on the 14th of February, 2026.

Chinese has its own set of digital lingo, starting from 520(wǔ'èr líng for I love you) to 995(jiǔjiǔwǔ for Save me) and much more. The participants firstly learnt counting from 1 to 10 in Chinese and then moved on to learning the lingo relevant in today's digital age. Finally, they learnt some phrases to express their feelings and a few fun songs featuring 好想你 (hǎo xiǎng nǐ, I MiSS U) by Joyce Chu and 恭喜恭喜(gōngxǐ gōngxǐ, congratulations) by Chen Gexin.
As the Spring Festival drew close, we also discussed a little about the customs and practices followed during the Chinese New Year, and the traditional food prepared around this time.

PS: Join us for more such sessions in the future before we start to 想你(xiǎng nǐ, Miss you)!
