Xingxing

Chinese Exploratory Program

The stars that we romanticize and idealize, are millions of miles away from us. Despite the distance, and us being a miniscule in comparison to them, we never fear the stars. But, we grew up looking up at stars, gazing at them and basking in their comfort. We're not unfamiliar to them, so, how could we ever fear the stars?

And yet, man-made borders make us feel so much more distant from each other than stars ever do. It makes us fear the unfamiliar, disregard our commonalities, and find the unfamiliarity intolerable, despite sharing the same unfamiliar, but, starry sky.

星星(Xīngxīng) meaning Stars, is a Chinese Exploratory Program under Ohana, meant to realize that unfamiliarity should not be regarded with fear, but as spaces yet left to explore. Here, we explore the Mandarin Language, and the multitudes of cultures that come along with it.

The Program is currently conducted with the assistance of Inika, Nandani, and Sunny, amateurs who wish to keep exploring, and share the treasure with everyone.
